The Social Security Administration claims the disability process is non-adversarial.
Nationwide statistics provided by the SSA state that 39 percent of all SSDI applications are approved at the state level by Disability Determination Services (DDS).
Social Security is denying more cases thereby denying people past due benefits and access to Medicare. Do NOT take on the United States Government without The Disability Consortium at Beckett Law Group.
The process for obtaining Social Security Disability (SSD) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits is complicated and technical. You do not have to have an advocate/lawyer to assist you with the process. However, most people who file an application on their own are turned down because they fail to adequately demonstrate that their disabling condition is preventing them from working. Many also make procedural errors because they are unfamiliar with navigating a complicated system.
“…the Office of Inspector General for the Social Security Administration indicated that many people submitting an initial disability application for SSDI might benefit from using a third-party disability representative when they first apply for benefits. … having a disability representative earlier in the process significantly improves the chances of … getting approved for SSDI”
We have extensive experience in both demonstrating the effect of disabilities as well as navigating a complex system
We get paid according to the law. Currently, under the SSA's fee agreement approval process, it is 25% of the retroactive dollar amount awarded, not to exceed $6,000. Retroactive for SSA means you are paid for the months from the date you claim to be disabled to the time you are approved for benefits.
At any point in the claim, we can step in and smoothly and quickly guide an application, reconsideration or appeal through the complex and demanding Social Security Administrative process and, if appropriate, to Federal Court. Even if you think you cannot appeal a claim because you are out of time or missed an appeal date, call us for a review at no charge.
Social Security Disability is a highly specialized practice area and requires attorneys with deep knowledge and experience to navigate through the complex bureaucracy and receive the full benefits to which you are entitled.
